We are also proud to share that the “Hands-on Science” community project was successfully implemented at Technical Secondary School No. 97 “Juan del Carmen” in Tlacoachistlahuaca, Guerrero. This inspiring initiative was designed and led by our student Elisa Mariel, a Pharmaceutical Chemist and Biologist (QFB) student originally from the community.
In a community facing significant social and educational challenges, Mariel brought the knowledge she gained through her university studies back to her hometown to show young people that science is not only found in books, but also in their own hands. She demonstrated that, even without a laboratory at their secondary school, students can still develop meaningful science projects.
Ninth-grade students reinforced classroom learning by producing soaps and antibacterial gels, with 85% of participants fully mastering the process of creating these bioproducts.
