Hello, my name is Mariel, originally from the state of Guerrero, and I am studying a career as a Chemist. This process began when The Gibson Soto Foundation accepted me to be part of its fourth generation of young people with scholarships so that they could continue studying for a bachelor’s degree so that in the future, we become good professionals and women leaders who can change tomorrow.
Without a doubt, it has been a great support and a blessing for me that The Gibson Soto Foundation decided to give me a scholarship since I have limited resources and it would be very difficult for me to continue with my studies, something quite sad since I do have goals to improve myself and to be someone in life, in addition to returning to my community and my state to be able to repay the help that The Gibson Soto Foundation gives me along with the Mentes y Genios scholarship (scholarship from the state of Guerrero for children and young people with a high IQ from marginalized areas) to improve the quality of life of my community, state and why not the country and the world. The Gibson Soto Foundation is supporting me by giving me a place to live, supplying me with materials for my studies, and giving me all meals of the day, all completely free of charge, so I consider it to be a foundation that has changed my life for the better, I am, and always I will be grateful for this great help that they are giving me since they opened a new panorama of my future and my aspirations.
I consider that The Gibson Soto Foundation is a unique foundation since it provides you with the tools but also accompanies you on this beautiful journey of your life, caring not only for your physical well-being but also for your psychological well-being, which is a fundamental part of this process. of adaptation in my case, being very far from my home and my family, I must confess that at some moments I felt a little sad but thanks to the workshops taught here they helped me understand many things, thanks to this my parents are also calm because they know that The Gibson Soto Foundation takes care of me not only physically but also emotionally, however, these same human development workshops have also helped me understand my emotions, my integrity as well as understand those of other people, especially of all people. I have felt very welcomed by the other students who live in the foundation’s home, by the board, and by Daysi. I consider all of them as a second family. Thanks to this foundation, my life is having a very radical change. In about four years, I will be a university graduate, willing to help and collaborate with society, science, my community, and The Gibson Soto Foundation to make this a better world. Without a doubt, it is a long journey that I am willing to undertake, and I know that with the support of The Gibson Soto Foundation, it will be fun and rewarding. I feel very happy to be part of the scholarship recipients from this great foundation.
